“Alex told me I can trust you.”
I look into Tyler’s eyes and see unexpected vulnerability. He’s struggling with something.
“You can,” I murmur.
“I don’t really have a choice now,” he sighs exasperated.
“What is it, Tyler?” I try to sound curious but neutral. I don’t know if Alex told him I know or not and I want to hear him say it.
He looks at the people around us, “Take a walk with me?” he holds out his hand.
This is an excerpt from the first draft and may read differently in the final book, but it is such a pivotal scene I wanted to share it. This is where Aria knows there’s something different about Tyler, her brother has told her the truth, but she wants to hear Tyler say it himself.
